Chantelle Rein-Smith joined WI in 2014 after completing the WI internship program. She is a seasoned medical writer who leverages her experience to lead the development of high-quality clinical and regulatory documents, provide project management support on large projects intended for global health authorities, and manage an internal team of WI writers. Chantelle also holds the Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) certification and collaborates with clients to create timely and transparent manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations based on clinical data. Chantelle’s therapeutic areas of expertise include cardiology and vascular disease, hematology, oncology, rare and orphan disease, gene therapy, dermatology, and more. At WI, she acts as a subject matter expert, develops in-house training materials, and mentors team members and interns.

Before joining WI, Chantelle completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she conducted research on age-related venous thromboembolism and wound healing defects. During this period, she also served as a lecturer in the Biology and Pathology departments and mentored undergraduate and graduate students.

Chantelle received her PhD in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at Oregon Health & Science University where her research focused on the role of blood clotting proteins in inflammation. She holds a bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Hamilton College.
