(WI) is pleased to announce that our President, Robin Whitsell, and nine of our writers will be presenting at the 2017 AMWA Medical Writing & Communication Conference, Trends and Opportunities for Medical Communicators, November 1-4, 2017, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, Orlando, Florida.

“The AMWA meeting is a great place to connect with members of our industry and further the processes, best practices, and scholarship of medical communication,” says Ms. Whitsell.

Robin Whitsell is presenting “Awkward to Awesome: How Powerful Construction Can Transform Your Writing” and “Are You Picking Up What I’m Putting Down? The Communication Conundrum.”

Mary Ellis Bogden, BA, Senior CMC Regulatory Consultant is presenting “Crib Notes for CMC Module 3: Content, Organization, and Post-Approval Impact.”

“Regulatory writing for Module 3 of the Common Technical Document can make an impact on the ease of life-cycle maintenance post-approval,” says Ms. Ellis Bogden. “I am looking forward to an engaging discussion on how the medical writer can shape the landscape of post-approval maintenance during submission.”

Rochelle Mills, PhD, Medical Writer and Consultant at WI, is presenting “Biologics and Biosimilars: Regulations, Rules of Trial Design, and Rising Approvals.”

Barbara Orban, MS, Senior Medical Writer and Consultant at WI will have a poster on display, “Authoring Protocols for Different Phases of Clinical Development: Key Differences and Tips for Preparation.”

Kelly Kilibarda, PhD, Medical Writer and Consultant and Stephen Carlson, PhD, Medical Writer and Consultant at WI will have a poster on display, “Crash Course in Food and Dietary Supplement Regulations.”

In total, 21 employees from WI will be attending the meeting. AMWA supports those in the medical communications field. It provides opportunities to expand writers’ professional network, offers access to medical writing resources and publications, and hosts professional development workshops and seminars, including the annual conference.
